How SmartScan Works
1. Open SmartScan
Tap the SmartScan button when viewing a store to activate your camera.
2. Point at Supplies
Aim your camera at store shelves or supply displays. SmartScan identifies products in real-time.
3. Confirm and Submit
Review the identified items, adjust if needed, and submit your report with one tap.
Supply Alerts
Get notified the moment essential supplies become available at your preferred stores. Never waste time searching—be among the first to know when ice, propane, gasoline, or other critical items arrive.
How Supply Alerts Work
1. Set an Alert
Go to any store and tap "Set Alert" for items you want to monitor. You can set alerts for specific items, multiple stores, or combine both.
2. Get Notified Instantly
When community reports confirm that item is in stock at your alerted store, you'll receive an immediate push notification with the store name and availability status.
3. Take Action Immediately
Tap the notification to see directions, confirm current availability, or check other nearby stores with the same item.
Managing Your Alerts
In your Premium Dashboard, see all active alerts and:
- Enable or disable alerts without deleting them
- Adjust notification frequency (instant, daily digest, or weekly)
- Remove alerts you no longer need
Disaster Alerts
Receive advance notice when disasters occur in your region, with detailed information from official sources and community coordinators. Premium members get:

Get notified before or immediately as disasters are declared in your area, giving you critical minutes to prepare.
Detailed Disaster Information
When tapping a disaster alert, see comprehensive information including type of disaster, affected areas, essential resources, and official guidance.

Administrators in your region can declare disasters for various situations:

Emergency preparedness requires planning. Premium members get access to preparation checklists based on their region and situation.

Custom Checklists
Create your own checklists from scratch for any scenario:
1. Create a Checklist
Tap "New Checklist," give it a name, and choose an emoji icon to represent it. Add items one at a time or use a template as a starting point.
2. Track Progress
Check off items as you acquire them. SupplyScout shows your completion percentage. Your progress also feeds into your overall readiness score.
3. Find Items on the Map
For items on your checklist, tap "Find This Item" to search SupplyScout's supply map and locate nearby stores with that item in stock.
4. Add Notes
Tap any checklist item to add notes — like brand preferences, quantities needed, or where you last saw the item.
Favorite Stores
Mark your preferred stores for quick access during emergencies. Premium members get an organized list of favorite stores with special features.
Adding Favorites
Mark any store as a favorite by tapping the heart icon on the store popup. Favorites appear in a dedicated list in your app.

Emergency Preparedness Hub
The Preparedness Hub is your personal command center for emergency readiness. It calculates a readiness score based on your preparedness activities and guides you through building comprehensive disaster plans.
Readiness Score
Your readiness score reflects how prepared you are across multiple dimensions. It's calculated from:
- Checklist completion — progress across your preparation checklists
- Important contacts saved — emergency contacts and account information
- Disaster alerts configured — alerts set up for your region
- Community contributions — your supply and status reports
Readiness Tiers
As your score grows, you progress through tiers that reflect your preparedness level. Starting from "Getting Started," each tier milestone encourages you to take the next step in your emergency planning.

One-tap creation of a comprehensive first aid kit checklist pre-populated with essential medical supplies. Check items off as you acquire them.

Preseason Alerts
Get ahead of disaster season with preseason alerts. SupplyScout sends reminders before hurricane season and winter storm season so you can stock up while supplies are plentiful and prices are normal.
How It Works
Configure your preseason alert preferences in Settings. Choose which seasons matter for your region, and SupplyScout will send timely reminders with preparation tips and checklist suggestions weeks before the season begins.

Starting a Subscription
Go to your account settings, tap "Premium," and follow the subscription flow. Choose monthly or annual, then complete payment through your app store.

- Cancel anytime—no questions asked
Cancellation
You can cancel your premium subscription at any time. Your access continues until your paid period ends, then reverts to free features. Your data, alerts, and checklists are preserved.
